The EAG Executive Secretary Igor Nebyvaev took part in the 30th MONEYAVL Plenary meeting

    The MONEYVAL Plenary took place in Strasbourg (France) on September 21-24. Mr. Nebyvaev reported to the participants of the Plenary on the current EAG activities and their results; the EAG and MONEYVAL confirmed their decision to hold a joint typology workshop in 2010.

    In the framework of the Plenary, the Russian Federation presented its progress report based on the results of the FATF-MONEYVAL-EAG mutual evaluation mission. 

    The MONEYVAL experts adopted Russia’s progress report admitting considerable achievements in its national AML/CFT system. 

    A number of prominent draft laws aimed at more effective implementation of international AML/CFT standards have been recently elaborated in Russia, as well as necessary steps have been made to improve coordination and enhance cooperation of various regulators and supervisory authorities. Russia has also undertaken measures to minimize risks of money laundering and terrorist financing in finance and non-finance sectors. 

    Hereafter Russia will be getting ready to present its progress report at the EAG Plenary meeting in December 2009 and FATF Plenary meeting in June 2010.
