The workshop “National risk assessment in the field of AML/CFT: approaches and experience” for EAG member states

    The workshop “National risk assessment in the field of AML/CFT: approaches and experience” for EAG member states was held in New Delhi (India) on 5th November 2012. The workshop was organized by the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring.

    The representatives of the FATF as well as of the World Bank, the State Financial Monitoring Committee of Ukraine, the FIU of Kazakhstan and other experts spoke at the workshop.

    The workshop let its participants to exchange experience, study practice of the countries which had already held such assessment and try to point further activities which could ease solution of the task to carry out the assessment by EAG member states. Conducting risk assessment is one of the most difficult tasks established by the international AML/CFT standards.

    The discussion on this issue held at the latest FATF Plenary meeting showed that there are still no definite approaches to solution of this problem.
