Results of the 5th Contest for the best financial analysis amongst the compliance services of financial institutions in EAG Member States

On 29 September 2026, the EAG held its 5th annual contest for the best financial analysis on the sidelines of the VI International Financial Security Olympiad in Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federation. The Contest aimed to encourage the exchange of best practices for identifying and suppressing ML/TF typologies and schemes in the private sectors of EAG Member States.

The Contest was attended by representatives of financial institutions from Belarus, India, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The contestants presented cases of financial analyses aimed at detecting and preventing suspicious transactions relating to the most pressing risks in the areas of money laundering and terrorist financing. They shared their experience of analysing international fraud schemes and transactions involving the illegal gambling industry, cross-border drug trafficking, Ponzi scheme suppression, and the misuse of charitable campaigns on social media.

The Contest Committee selected the case study submitted by Hamkorbank of the Republic of Uzbekistan as the winner. Participants from Russia (T-Bank) and India (Axis Bank) were recognised as the Contest laureates. Alif Bank from Tajikistan won the Audience Award.

The awards ceremony for winners and laureates will take place during the 45th EAG Plenary Meeting in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan, in November 2026.
