Joint training event on practical exchange of experience in the form of a study visit to the Financial Monitoring Center of the Central Bank of Armenia

On June 18-20, 2024, in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia, a joint training event of the Financial Monitoring Center of the Central Bank of Armenia, the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation, the International Training and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring (ITMCFM) and the EAG Secretariat was held.

The event was held within the framework of implementation of the Plan on providing technical assistance to the Republic of Uzbekistan and was organized for representatives of the financial intelligence unit, ministries and agencies of the country in order to exchange experience in the AML/CFT sphere.

In the event, the experience of the Financial Monitoring Center and Rosfinmonitoring on STR analysis, financial monitoring methods, data analysis, supervision, ML/TF risk assessments and regulation of the virtual assets sector was considered. Participants presented the best practices in building national AML/CFT systems and discussed the possibilities of application of the considered solutions in the AML/CFT system of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The EAG Secretariat presented an overview of the FATF guidance documents on risk-based supervision, recommended approaches of the EAG in conducting sectoral ML/TF risk assessments and updated requirements of the standards on protecting NPOs from terrorist financing. At the same time, the EAG Secretariat in cooperation with the ITMCFM moderated the event.
