High level EAG Mission and TANA Mission to Tajikistan took place on June 2-3, 2009

The Mission was aimed at providing to Tajikistan assistance in enhancing their AML/CFT activities under the decisions of the 9-th EAG Plenary.

In the framework of the Mission the following questions were discussed:

• Enhancement of Tajik activities in creating a national AML/CFT regime including foundation of an FIU and adoption of legilation, compliant with internatinal standards (discussed with the Tajik government and competent agencies);
• Providing Tajikistan with advisory assistance in creating a national AML/CFT system as well as an FIU;
• Preparing to sign an agreement on technical assistance cooperation between Tajikistan and the ITMCFM in order to carry out measures to create methodologies and guidelines, provide AML/CFT training and create an analytical IT system.
