Mutual evaluations of national system on AML/CFT/FPWMD of the Republic of Tajikistan

    The meeting of Interdepartmental Working Group on mutual evaluation of national system on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Terrorism Financing and Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (AML/CFT/FPWMD) of the Republic of Tajikistan with participation of representatives of the authorised bodies of the country under the chairmanship of Vatanzoda M. M., Assistant of President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Legal issues, Head of the Permanent Interdepartmental Commission on AML/CFT/FPWMD has taken place on June 1, 2018 in National Bank of Tajikistan.

    Vatanzoda M. M. has opened the meeting with a salutatory speech and told about the project of the First Report on results of mutual evaluation which covers parts of realization of efficiency of national system on AML/CFT/FPWMD and technical compliance according to Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendations.

    Further, Faizullozoda F., Director of Financial Monitoring Department of the National Bank of Tajikistan and representatives of Department presented information on identified deficiencies and their elimination within the limits of the project of the Report which has been forwarded for consideration to corresponding departments.

    In his speech Mr. Vatanzoda M. M has noted that according to Procedures of the mutual evaluation, confirmed by the Eurasian Group on Anti-money laundering and combating terrorism financing (EAG), in the frame of the EAG next plenary meeting the Mutual Assessment Report of the Republic of Tajikistan on AML/CTF/FPWMD system will be considered. Therefore, it is necessary all-round preparation of appropriate state agencies for report consideration at the next EAG Plenary meeting.

    Faizullozoda F. has noted that process of the 2nd round of EAG mutual evaluations has special importance in this connection, acceptance of corresponding and timely measures from all state bodies is essential. As, in case of presence of difficulties in the course of an estimation, the country can be included in classification of countries having disadvantage in the AML/CTF/FPWMD sphere.

    At the end Vatanzoda M. M. requested the representatives of the Ministries and Agencies to provide necessary information on existing demands of the project of the Report to the National Bank of Tajikistan (Financial Monitoring Department), authorised body on AML/CTF/FPWMD sphere with the view of supporting EAG experts - appraisers in the shortest time.
