The Regional State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus has uncovered fictitious deliveries of building materials for capital renovation projects

Fraud was uncovered during an inspection of a housing and utilities enterprise that served as the customer for capital renovation work on residential buildings in the regional center.

Specialists of the regional Committee of State Control of the Republic of Belarus and its Department of Financial Investigations drew attention to the fact that there are no windows, window sills, casts on construction sites, which, according to the documents, have already been delivered to one of the commercial firms and for which this company has been paid more than 80 thousand Belarusian rubles. It was determined that the building materials had in fact never been delivered.

It was established that employees of the housing and utilities enterprise were aware that the materials were missing from the sites, yet they prepared fictitious documents on the basis of which state funds were transferred to the commercial company.

Criminal cases have been opened against the founder of the supplying firm, an employee of the housing and utilities enterprise, and the former director of the Belarusian enterprise. The first two are suspected of fraud, while the former director is suspected of abuse
of power.

The damage to the state enterprise has been compensated.
