The EAG Secretariat has announced the Fifth Annual Contest for the best AML/CFT financial analysis among compliance officers of financial institutions of the Members and Observers of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG).
The objective of the Contest is to share experience and best practices for improving effectiveness of national AML/CFT systems and efficiency of international AML/CFT cooperation among private sector. The Contest enables to create the library of the best examples which will help to enhance the regional AML/CFT cooperation capabilities and serves as the forum for demonstrating practical examples of identifying ML/TF schemes, which could be used for education and training of the national AML/CFT system staff of EAG Member States.
The Contest is held in accordance with the «Regulation on the EAG contest among financial institutions of Member States for the best AML/CFT financial analysis». All interested representatives of financial institutions are eligible to participate in the Contest.
Cases of financial analyses should be pre-selected at the level of delegations of EAG Member States and/or Observers. Each delegation may nominate no more than one case for participation in the Contest.
Cases for the Contest should be submitted and should be in line with the following criteria:
- the volume of provided materials should not exceed 10 pages; Additional pages may be used as Annex which could be used to provide supporting images, diagrams and other graphical representations;
- each case must be accompanied by a separate graphical presentation;
- materials should be submitted in either hard copy or electronic format;
- the time limitation for the materials should not exceed three years;
- materials should be submitted by the delegations of the EAG Member States or Observers either in Russian or English. If possible, translation of the submitted materials for the Contest should be made by contestants themselves;
- to ensure confidentiality of information all names appearing in the submitted cases must be rendered anonymized.
The final of the Contest will take place on 29 September 2026 in Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federation, as part of the VI International Financial Security Olympiad. The Contest winner and laureates will be awarded, along with the winner of the 'Audience Award' nomination, in November 2026, during the 45th EAG Plenary Meeting in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.
