The delegation of the Republic of Belarus took part in a working meeting with the heads and experts of the Coordination Council of Heads of Tax (Financial) Investigation Authorities of the CIS Member States in Astana

    The delegation of the Department of Financial Investigations
    of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus took the part in the working meeting of the Heads of tax (financial) investigation authorities and experts of the Coordinating Council
    of Heads of Tax (Financial) Investigation Bodies of the CIS member States.

    The event was held in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) from August 13 to 15, 2025. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Andrei Sambuk, Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee - Director of the Financial Investigation Department.

    The participants of the working meeting discussed a range of topical issues, including:

    • Economic security activities;

    • Countering the financing of extremism and terrorism;

    • Results of measures taken to detect and suppress economic crimes and corruption;

    • Implementation of joint operational and preventive measures.

    The draft of Memorandum of Understanding between the Financial Investigation Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus and the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan was also discussed. The signing of this document will intensify cooperation between two departments, establish the legal basis for joint activities in key areas in countering offenses in the economic sphere, corruption, financing of terrorism and extremism.

    During his speech at the working meeting, Andrei Sambuk noted the importance and relevance of interstate cooperation in countering economic crime, since the fight against transnational crime has the need to develop common approaches to protect public values and interests from criminal infringement. Only concerted action and integration of efforts, sharing of knowledge and experience in countering criminal activity will make this work more effective.

     

    Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax (Financial) Investigation Bodies of the CIS member States (CCHTFB) – is a sectoral cooperation authority of the Commonwealth of Independent States, created to interact and coordinate actions in combating violations of tax (financial) legislation. The chairmanship of the CCHTFB shall be exercised alternately by each CIS member State which has signed the CCHTFB decision during the year. The Republic of Kazakhstan now chairs the CCHTFB.
