    The 12th EAG Plenary Meeting with participation of EAG member states, observers and other international organizations will be held from 31 May to 3 June 2010 in Almaty (the Republic of Kazakhstan).

    The Plenary meeting is to be presided over by the EAG Chairman Mr. Oleg Markov, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation. Mr. Paul Vlaanderen, the FATF President, and the MONEYVAL Chairman Mr. Vladimir Nechayev will participate in the Plenary.

    Among the key points of the Plenary agenda is the EAG’s membership extension through inclusion of Turkmenistan as a member state, and providing Serbia and Montenegro with observer status, as well as consideration of the EAG's transformation into an international organization.

    New EAG Working Group’s mandate will be approved. Its activities will be aimed at assessing and preventing ML/TF risks in international financial relations and forming EAG’s own policy of risk mitigation.

    The EAG mutual evaluation report on Uzbekistan and follow-up reports of EAG member states are to be approved of by the Plenary. Also on the agenda are the issues of implementation of financial monitoring mechanisms in combating corruption.   

    A press-conference will take place on the results of the Plenary meeting with participation of the FATF President Mr. Paul Vlaanderen.
