Systemic fight against corruption

The State Control Committee, together with investigators of the Borisov district of the Minsk region, identified and stopped the corruption scheme, in which representatives of a private company and officials
of state-owned enterprises were involved.

Since the summer of 2023, businessmen involved in the supply of spare parts for transport conspired with three state organizations of Borisov – housing and communal services, road and industrial companies. They offered officials bribes of up to 5% of the cost of supplies in exchange for guaranteed receipt of contracts.

The scheme worked like this: merchants learned in advance about upcoming purchases and sent fake offers with supposedly lower prices, which allowed them to win tenders and conclude supply contracts.

Now all suspects cooperate with the investigation and confess, which speeds up the investigation.

Three officials of age are involved in the case 40 to 63 years old. They are accused of taking bribes. Two of them were chosen a preventive measure – bail, and their property was seized. One of the defendants has already returned the illegally received money to the state.

The investigation continues – investigators are looking for all participants in the scheme and the reasons that allowed the crime
to develop.

New episodes of corruption were revealed in the Minsk and Gomel regions in the amount of more than 800 thousand Belarusian rubles.

In the fall of 2024, the founder of one of the Gomel companies, which was engaged in the construction of pipelines for pumping oil, transferred five thousand dollars in the office to his deputy. The task is to buy the loyalty of the deputy general director of the enterprise for the transportation of petroleum products, so that contracts flow to it like oil through pipes, and their execution then also did not cause complaints.

It turned out that the episode was far from the first, the Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee revealed 14 facts of receiving bribes from three persons. The total amount illegally received money is more than 800 thousand Belarusian rubles.

The defendants face a real term. The sanctions of the article provide for up to seven years in prison.

Corruption is always a dead end. And sooner or later you will have to pay in full, including freedom.
