Proliferation Financing Workshop

The joint EAG/FATF TRAIN/ITMCFM proliferation-financing workshop was held in Moscow on 9-12 December 2019.

Training was provided by representatives of the FATF Secretariat, FATF TRAIN, the EAG Secretariat and Rosfinmonitoring. Over the course of 4 days, more than 40 participants from among representatives of the relevant EAG agencies took part in interactive discussions, simulation exercises and group analysis of complex criminal schemes and scenarios. 

Participants were provided with up-to-date information on international proliferation financing standards, UNSCRs currently in force, the obligation to apply targeted financial sanctions, proliferation financing typologies, the importance of interagency coordination, supervision, and the importance of awareness-raising programmes on combating proliferation financing for the private sector.
