Rosfinmonitoring representatives participated in the Federation Council roundtable devoted to the digital currency turnover regulation in Russia

On July 17, Rosfinmonitoring officers, Evgeny Shevlyakov, Head of the Risk Assessment Department, and Kirill Groshikov, Deputy Head of the Regulatory Division of the Legal Department, participated in the roundtable held at the Federation Council. The discussion was focused on the digital currency turnover regulation in Russia.

Artem Sheikin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Construction, Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy at the Federation Council moderated the discussion.

Parliamentarians, Rosfinmonitoring representatives, the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Tax Service, law enforcement agencies, credit organizations, academic and expert community attended the event.

The experts discussed international experience in the legal regulation of virtual assets, issues of countering the use of cryptocurrencies by criminals for money laundering, the development of blockchain transaction scoring systems in Russian financial institutions, and other topics.

Yevgeny Shevlyakov emphasized the need to further strengthen dialogue and interaction in developing certain functions of the digital service for monitoring cryptocurrency transactions "Transparent Blockchain" and drew attention to the initiatives required on the round table matters.

The law enforcement unit representatives noted the effectiveness of the service use. Earlier, Rosfinmonitoring officers provided a number of training events on the platform features for relevant departments.
