Rosfinmonitoring Representative Participates in the 8th BRICS Anti-Drug Working Group Meeting

    Viktor Yastrebov, a representative of Rosfinmonitoring’s Anti-Money Laundering Department, participated in the 8th BRICS Anti-Drug Working Group Meeting as a member of the Russian interagency delegation led by Ivan Gorbunov, Head of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

    The meeting took place in Guwahati, India, where participants assessed the current drug situation and discussed best practices adopted by BRICS countries to combat illicit drug trafficking.

    During the meeting, the Rosfinmonitoring representative introduced measures to combat the laundering of drug proceeds. The presentation emphasized the importance of further strengthening international cooperation and promoting information exchange to mitigate money laundering risks.

    The Russian delegation reaffirmed the country's readiness to share its advanced experience and innovative approaches with BRICS partners in reducing both the demand for and supply of illicit drugs, as well as in addressing the financial part of the drug trade.

    The outcomes of the meeting were recorded in the Guwahati Declaration.
