2nd EAG training seminar for evaluators

    The second EAG training seminar for evaluators took place on on June 26-30, 2006 and it was organized to continue the first evaluator training seminar, which took place in Moscow on March 20-24, 2006.

    7 international experts from the FATF, IMF, World Bank, UNODC, Council of Europe and Rosfinmonitoring with experience in carrying out mutual evaluations were acting as lecturers. 32 experts from EAG member-states and Ukraine took part in the seminar as students.
    A detailed analysis of the reports drafted by the students after the first training seminar, was carried out. These students are to participate in EAG mutual evaluations. A series of practical exercises was carried out as well.

    According to the students and lecturers the EAG seminar for evaluators was generally successful, accomplishing all of the main goals. The mentioned seminar also provided new experience, which could be used in future evaluator training seminars not only by the FATF, but by FATF-style regional bodies as well.

    Building on the success of the two evaluator training seminars a group of international experts has been formed with representatives of all EAG member-states. These experts will participate in EAG mutual evaluations in the future.
