Finance Minister of Kazakhstan appointed Zhanat Elimanov Chairman of the Committee on Financial Monitoring of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan

    Executive Secretary of the Finance Ministry of Kazakhstan E. Jamaubaev introduced 28 January 2020 the new chairman to the Committee staff. During the introduction, the Executive Secretary praised the former leadership for restructuring the agency, while emphasizing the need for further efforts to bolster the fight against ML/TF.

    Born in 1978 in Karaganda, Zhanat Elimanov graduated from Buketov Karaganda State University.

    He began his career in 2000 in the position of acting prosecutor of the Karaganda Prosecutor's Office's Department for Monitoring the Legitimacy of Judicial Decision Making and Executive Proceedings.
    From 2000 to 2007, he worked for the prosecutor's office of the Karaganda Region and the city of Nur-Sultan.
    From 2007 to 2017, he held various positions within the Justice and Finance Ministries, and the RK Agency for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption.
    From 2017 to 2019, he held senior positions with the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakstan.
    From February to April 2019, he worked as deputy prosecutor of the Karaganda Region.
    Since April 2019, he has occupied the office of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Financial Monitoring of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
