On February 2-6, 2026, the EAG Secretariat conducted the EAG Assessors Training course in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The AT course, developed by the FATF Secretariat, aims to build skills for participating in mutual evaluation. This includes a scoping exercise on reviewing risks and context, analysing technical compliance and effectiveness materials, mock interviewing competent authorities, drafting a report, and developing the recommended actions to improve the AML/CFT/CPF system of the assessed country.
The training event brought together 34 experts from the competent authorities of all EAG Member States. During the five-day programme, participants studied the course's theoretical materials and completed the accompanying practical exercises.
The event was held as part of the implementation of the EAG Work Plan for 2025 and 2026 and the EAG Strategy for 2024-2028, with a view to preparing EAG Member States for the third round of mutual evaluations.
The EAG Secretariat would like to express its gratitude to the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for organising this event at the high level. The training cycle for experts from EAG Member States is set to continue in 2026.
