  • 29 June, 2026

Following the completion of the FATF quality and consistency review process, the first Regular Follow-up Report of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with technical compliance re-ratings, has been published on the EAG and FATF websites. The document was adopted by the EAG Plenary in May 2026.

The report reflects the progress achieved by the Republic of Kazakhstan since the adoption of its mutual evaluation report in June 2023. In particular, it provides an analysis of key changes to the legislative and institutional framework, as well as measures taken by the country to further strengthen its national AML/CFT/CPF system in relation to a number of FATF Recommendations.

The assessment of Kazakhstan’s progress was conducted by experts from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Following the consideration of the report, Kazakhstan’s ratings for four FATF Recommendations (R.6, R.7, R.24 and R.26) were upgraded to Largely Compliant. The rating for Recommendation 28 remained Partially Compliant.

Thus, as of today, the Republic of Kazakhstan has ratings of Compliant or Largely Compliant for 37 out of the 40 FATF Recommendations.

The Republic of Kazakhstan will remain in regular follow-up based on the technical compliance and effectiveness ratings assigned as a result of the mutual evaluation.
