Issues of strengthening cooperation between Financial Intelligence units discussed

    A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prosecutor General A.Mavlonov paid a visit to Moscow for the purpose of strengthening cooperation between the financial intelligence units of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, as well as training personnel in the sphere of economic security.

    Representatives of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and higher educational institutions, members of the International Network AML/CFT Institute (Tashkent State Economic University, Tashkent State University of Law and Tashkent University of Information Technologies), also took part in the events on the part of the Uzbek delegation.

    A number of meetings with leaders of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring, International Network Institute, Physical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation, Finance University affiliated to the Government of the Russian Federation, International Training and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring were held.

    Issues of scientific cooperation, conducting research in joint laboratories, forming a single educational space in the sphere of anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism through the establishment of an international qualification assessment system were discussed during the visit.

    Following the results of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan, a Memorandum on scientific cooperation in the sphere of anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and a protocol on cooperation in educational and scientific activities in this area between the International Network AML/CFT Institute and universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan were signed.
