On December 14, 2005, Moscow hosted the first Conference of EAG Donor States.

It was attended by delegations from all EAG member states (Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan) as well as EAG observer organizations and states (FATF, World Bank, IMF, UNODC, CIS Executive Committee, CSTO, EurAsEC, Council of Europe, the UK, Georgia, Moldova, USA, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine).

Active contributions to the Conference were made by such donors as the IMF, World Bank, UNODC, the Council of Europe, Russia, USA, and Ukraine.

The Conference outlined the EAG approach to providing technical assistance to member states, analyzed technical assistance programs carried out in the Eurasian region, and presented the recently-established (by decision of the Russian Government) International Training and Methodological Center of Financial Monitoring, its main task being to assist EAG activities.

Conference participants discussed reports on the assessment of technical assistance needs of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
