Meeting of the Organizing Committee of the International Financial Security Competition took place in the Russian Federation

    On April 2021, the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the International Financial Security Competition was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko. The Competition organized by the Federal Financial Monitoring Service jointly with the universities and research institutions will be held in Russia in May – June 2021.

    The goal of the Competition is to demonstrate the current financial security trends and scientific and technology developments in this area and to provide the youth with the opportunity to choose their future professional careers. The Competition participants will include high school and university students from Russia and the EAG member countries – Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

    The Competition will include the Russian National Financial Security Lesson and will consist of two phases (the qualification phase and the final phase). The second (final) phase will be held in the Sirius federal territory (Sochi city, Russia), on October 3-9, 2021.

    The methodological guidelines for holding the Russian National Financial Security Lessor for high school students were developed by the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. They are aimed at providing insights into different types of financial fraud and developing understanding of the basic financial literacy principles.

    Deputy Chair of the Organizing Committee, Director of Rosfinmonitoring, Chairman of the EAG, Chairman of the International Network AML/CFT Institute Board Mr. Yuri Chikhanchin highlighted that: “This event will help to raise the general level of information, legal and financial literacy of the youth. We believe that annual outreach competitions like this will contribute to successful implementation of the Strategy for Improving Financial Literacy in the Russian Federation in 2021-2023.

    The meeting adopted the Competition Regulation and established the working bodies: the Executive Committee, the Panel of Judges and the Appeals Committee.
