Kazakhstan establishes Financial Monitoring Agency

    The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on 28.01.2021 signed Decree No. 501 "On measures to further improve the public administration system of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. 

    Under the Decree, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on financial monitoring was established, a  state body directly subordinate and accountable to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the transfer of functions and powers of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as to prevent, detect, suppress and investigate economic and financial crimes and offences.

    Zhanat Kaldybekovich Elimanov was appointed as the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on financial monitoring.
