Heads of three taxi-companies in the capital of the Republic of Belarus paid a salary to drivers «in an envelope»

The regional unit of the Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus has suppressed the scheme for paying salaries «in envelopes» in three companies operating in the taxi sector.

During the inspections, it was established that the actual owner and head of one of the companies registered it on a front person and for six months hid part of the money received from passengers, which was not reflected in the company's accounting. Part of this money went to pay drivers salaries «in envelopes».

Similarly, other companies hid revenue and paid salaries to employees «in envelopes».

The «gray» salary at different times was received by 550 employees of three companies. The damage caused to the state in the form of unremitted amounts of income tax and mandatory payments to the Social Protection Fund of the Republic of Belarus amounted to 680 thousand Belarusian rubles.

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus has instituted criminal proceedings against the owners of taxi companies.
