From 5 to 9 March 2012 the EAG delegation took part in the MONEYVAL 38th Plenary meeting held in Strasbourg (France)

    In the framework of the Plenary the MONEYVAL Secretariat presented to the participants the schedule of mutual evaluations and meetings for 2012-2013. Special attention was paid to the report of the FATF representatives on the updated 40 Recommendations.

    The Plenary meeting discussed the results of the mutual evaluation of Malta and Andorra, progress reports of Montenegro and Slovenia, the report of Albania, as well as the interim report of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the discussion on the reports special attention was paid to the issues of effectiveness of the legislative and institutional anti-money laundering and financing of terrorism measures. Measures taken by "The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia", Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova to eliminate identified important deficiencies were also discussed.

    At the Plenary the EAG Seretariat aquainted the participants with the information on the AML/CFT initiatives in the Eurasian region, and also briefed the participants of the meeting with the typology projects conducted in the framework of the EAG in 2011, as well as scheduled in 2012.
