Eurasian Economic Commission approved a draft Memorandum between the EEC and the EAG on combating money laundering

On September, 15-th, 2020 the EEC Collegium approved the draft Memorandum between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Eurasian group on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism (EAG). The document is aimed at expanding the format of cooperation between the EEC and the EAG, sharing the best practices. 

The agreement to strengthen further cooperation between the EEC and EAG was reached in July 2020 as a result of meeting between the EEC Minister Timur Zhaksylykov and the Chairman of the Eurasian group on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism, Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service Yuri Chihanchin. 

On the EAG side, it is proposed to review and to adopt the draft Memorandum during the 33rd Plenary Session of the EAG in November 2020.
