EAG Deputy Chairman Mr. Shaktikanta Das paid a visit to Russia

On 22 March 2013 Russian, Indian and US trilateral talks on the issue of detection of illegal flows from drug traffiking were held in Moscow.

In the course of the visit the EAG Chairman, the Rosfinmonitoring Director Mr. Yury Chikchanchin held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Eurasian group, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of India Mr. Shaktikanta Das. EAG heads held a working meeting with the Head of the FIU of Belarus Mr. Alexander Maximenko on the issue of organization of the EAG Plenary meeting to be held in May 2013 in Minsk. The talks passed with the help of the videoconferencing system which is being developed in the Eurasian region by the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring (Russia).

A joint EAG/Egmont group workshop on experience echange in the use of IT in financial experts activities, which is planned to be held in the framework of the Plenary week in Minsk. It is the first EAG and the Egmont group joint project organized by the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring (Russia). The event is supposed to gather about 150 experts from the FIUs of different states.

Following his visit to Russia the EAG Deputy Chairman Mr. Shaktikanta Das visited the EAG office and discussed main directions of work and preparation for the 4th round of mutual evaluations of national anti money laundering systems in the line of EAG with its Executive secretary.
