EAG and EEC signed Memorandum of Understanding

    The Memorandum of understanding was signed between the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG) and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

    The EAG Chairman Mr. Yury Chikhanchin signed the memorandum on behalf of the EAG, and Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC Mr. Timur Zhaksylykov signed it on behalf of the EEC.

    Parties intend to cooperate in the sphere of experience study and analysis of measures taken for the purpose of combating money laundering and terrorism financing, identification and analysis of ML/TF risks, rendering of mutual expert support and in other directions of cooperation of mutual interest.

    The document is aimed at strengthening of further cooperation between EAG and EEC.

    The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is a permanent regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union. The main purpose of the Eurasian Economic Commission is to ensure the conditions for the functioning and development of the EAEU and to work out proposals on the further development of integration.

    EEC has been an EAG observer since June 2016 and continuously participates in the activities of the Group.
