A criminal case has been initiated against the director of the district capital construction department for falsification during the commissioning of a residential building

The regional office of the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus has uncovered a case of fictitious commissioning of a two-story residential building whose construction was funded under the state program «Education and Youth Policy» for 2001–2025.

It was established that in December 2024, the director of the district capital construction department, who also served as the chair of the acceptance commission, arranged for false information to be entered into the acceptance certificate for the residential building, which he subsequently approved.

At the same time, not all works required by the project documentation had been completed at the site, nor had the contractors fulfilled all of their contractual obligations for the construction of the residential building.

These document manipulations allowed the director of the district capital construction department to formally show that the housing construction plan for the district had been fulfilled, as well as to avoid liability for failing to meet the deadlines for commissioning the construction project and for not utilizing the allocated budget funds.

A criminal case has been opened against this official on the grounds of official forgery. A preliminary investigation is underway.
