50th Issue of Financial Security Journal Published

The latest issue of Financial Security journal is dedicated to the development of regional financial security system. In his address to readers, Editorial Board Chair, Chairman of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG), and Director of Rosfinmonitoring, Yury Chikhanchin, emphasized the critical role that FATF-Style Regional Bodies (FSRBs) play in the global architecture.

“The primary objective of developing regional financial security systems is to bring together the technological, informational, and human capacity of our states in order to strengthen financial security at all levels and, ultimately, at the global level,” Yury Chikhanchin noted.

In an exclusive interview, Hamid Al Zaabi, President of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), highlighted the importance of fostering international cooperation in response to emerging threats related to the misuse of virtual assets, digital financial services, and cyber technologies.

The issue also features interviews with André Kanga, Executive Secretary of the Action Group against Money Laundering in Central Africa (GABAC), and Jeffrey Isima, Policy and Research Director at the Secretariat of the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA), as well as an article by Sergey Teterukov, EAG Executive Secretary.

The journal includes contributions from experts representing Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, as well as international organizations and higher education institutions. Readers will also find reports from the International Security Forum and the International Forum for Supervisory Authorities and Private Sector “A Reasonable Balance and Trust-Based Dialogue,” which brought together 200 delegates from 30 countries across the CIS, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe in St. Petersburg.
