2013 Joint APG /Eurasian Group (EAG) Annual Typologies Meeting and Capacity Building Workshop, 23-27 September 2013, Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia

    The Workshop is being generously hosted by the Bank of Mongolia.

    The 2013 Joint Workshop will also enhance cooperation between the APG and the EAG and help realise one of the strategic objectives of the APG and the EAG - to provide guidance and technical assistance in collaboration with global partners to support effective implementation of the international AML/CFT standards.

    We invite our respective members and observers to contact the Secretariat to register. The registration will last since the 8th of August till the 10th of September 2013.
    The Workshop is being generously hosted by the Bank of Mongolia. This will be the first APG/EAG joint typologies workshop and will bring together law enforcement, prosecutors, financial intelligence units and regulatory practitioners from the across the two regions to share knowledge and expertise in order to improve regional cooperation and AML/CFT implementation. The Typologies Workshop will be immediately followed by a two-day Capacity Building Workshop, which will include private sector representatives and build on previous APG, EAG and FATF typologies studies.

    Discussions during the week will focus as follows:

    Typologies Workshop: Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 September

    •  The Risk of Terrorist Abuse in the Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) Sector
    •  Illicit Financial Flows and the Use of AML/CFT Tools to Combat Corruption and
    •  ML and TF Risks and Vulnerabilities Associated with Gold Production, Movement, Markets and Trade.

    Capacity Building Workshop: Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 September

    •  Financial Inclusion – Meeting the Challenges and
    •  AML / CFT and New Technologies – Understanding Virtual Currencies.
